Dear God I need to talk to you

I’m trying to make some sense

Of a story heard on the news
A boy in the 8^th grade
Brought a gun to school today
How can we make this change
And take away his rage
They said a little girl died
While others ran for their lives
And my question here is why 

Oh does anybody really care

About the world we share
I need to know
Where do we go from here? 

Dear God I hope you’ll answer soon
Catastrophe is everywhere
And no one can find the truth
Mothers and fathers loosing sons and daughters
In a war with no end
Will their broken hearts ever mend?
